The Beginning of the Story
I passionately lead Sartoria Dalla Costa, but my journey began in a completely different world—that of antique handwoven carpets, where warp and weft intertwine with the same refinement as the fabrics I now select for my clients.
Raised in a family of esteemed Oriental carpet merchants, I had the privilege of exploring, studying, and restoring artifacts of extraordinary beauty and historical value. Throughout my career, I managed art galleries in cities such as Milan, Lugano, Bergamo, Santa Margherita Ligure, Porto Cervo, and Courmayeur, experiencing unique moments in an environment rich in elegance and tradition.
One particular episode marked a decisive turning point in my professional life. During a trip to Geneva, while presenting a precious carpet to a client, I was caught by surprise—not only was he captivated by the beauty of the piece, but he was especially struck by my suit, a garment crafted by my trusted tailor. Fascinated by the quality and style I conveyed, he made an unexpected proposal: he asked me to become his sartorial consultant, to assess his wardrobe and select only the garments that truly reflected his image.
I accepted the offer with enthusiasm, driven by curiosity and a latent passion for the world of tailoring. That decision changed my life: today, tailoring is not just my profession, but my greatest passion—the place where elegance, history, and style find their most authentic expression.
